Information for holders of a Surinamese driver's license
Holders of a Surinamese driver's license with residence in the Netherlands may submit their request for renewal or a duplicate of their driver's license, as well as a request for an international driver's license (from Suriname), at the Consulate General of the Republic of Suriname in Amsterdam.
Driving in Suriname
Due to a change in the Road Traffic Act of Suriname, visitors who wish to drive a vehicle in Suriname must possess a valid international driver's license.
Persons who do not possess such, may apply for a Suriname driver's permit at the Driver's licenses Department, at Bureau Nieuwe Haven (Police Station) in Paramaribo.
