Travelers from so-called high-risk countries are required to provide proof of a valid Yellow fever vaccination upon arrival in Suriname.
The visitor must have been vaccinated at least 10 days prior to arrival in Suriname.
For your information: List of risk countries and countries that have made Yellow Fever vaccination mandatory for visitors
For persons from non-risk countries who travel to Suriname directly or via other non-risk countries, the above does not yet apply.
Persons from non-risk countries who have been in a so-called high-risk country more than 12 hours prior to their arrival in Suriname are required to provide proof of a valid Yellow fever vaccination upon arrival in Suriname.
Yellow fever vaccination is therefore always recommended when traveling to Suriname.
Example: French Guiana, Brazil and Guyana are on the list of risk countries. If one crosses from Suriname to one of those areas, one will in principle have to meet the obligation upon return.
